MEET OUR CREW

The core crew who brought the film to life!

Madison "Maddie" Arellano

Director

Visual Development, Rough Animation, Clean-up animation, Layout, Background Paint

HAI! I'm MADDIE! I’m a 2D Animator and BACKGROUND Artist from Houston, Texas. Cartoons mixed with the indie animations I watched on YouTube inspired my dream of learning all aspects of the animation pipeline and working with a team to create instead of working solo! I had to get my hands dirty on all aspects of our film, including Vis Dev, Character Design, Layout, Background Painting, Animation, and of course— Directing! I have an amazing, dedicated team which makes my job so much easier, and my favorite part of our film is watching our main character Amos come to life!

Hello! I’m Faye, a concept art and storyboard artist, as well as one of the co-directors of A Butler’s Job. My roles so far have been leading the story team, and now leading layouts. Coming from a primarily 3D focused background, this film instantly challenged me, and I am so thankful for my team for guiding me in the ways of 2D pipelines and limitations. I have already learned so much, and getting to work with a team of talented artists every day has made this one of the best projects I’ve worked on so far. I’m so proud of us butlers!

Tamar Knaani Nahmias

Visual Development, Layout, Background Paint

Hi! My name is Tamar and I'm a layout and concept artist for a butler's job (: During pre-production my main focus was designing our environments, outdoors and indoor location, props, and some characters. I really enjoyed the world building and all the research we gathered to make sure our story feels, lives and breathes 1800s Victorian England. The focus on the dark robes, inky lines and strong contrast made the style of our film stand out to me more than any other project I've taken part in before. I feel extremely lucky to be able to work on such a special story, with such an amazing, talented team. (:

Olivia Taveira

Visual Development, Rough Animation, Clean-Up Animation

Hi there! My name is Olivia Taveira and I'm a 2D Animator from just outside Boston, Massachusetts. I specialize primarily in character animation, effect animation, and layout illustration. On A Butler's Job, I worked as one of the central character animators during production and as a layout designer and animation tester during pre-production. Working on ABJ was an absolute blast; it was amazing to work on a team with so much talent and a director who had such a strong vision for what we were making. Even though I hadn't had much experience animating animals before A Butler's Job, my favorite character to animate is a tie between Bauer and the fox maid— anthro characters are shockingly fun! Overall, I'm incredibly grateful to have worked with such a dedicated and talented team on such a fun project.

Aaliyah Henderson

Visual Development, Layout, Background Paint

My name is Aaliyah Henderson, and I worked as a Concept/Character artist for A Butler’s Job. I was primarily involved in designing a couple of background characters. At the moment I am responsible for a couple of environmental layouts in the manor setting. Before this production, my background was primarily in animation, although I had dabbled in design and concepts through coursework. This opportunity, however, enabled me to delve deeper into character design and layout, and I can envision myself developing a stronger interest in these roles moving forward. Working on this film has been a great experience so far, allowing me to learn a significant amount of material; although the workload is hefty, it's all worth it to see our work of art come together as a whole.

Kaelyn Nimmoor

Hi! My name is Kaelyn Nimmoor, and I’m a Story and Concept Development artist from Portland, Oregon. I worked primarily as a Character Designer and 2D layout artist on a Butler’s Job. This production has surely put my perspective skills to the test, and I have learned so much from this experience. My favorite part about this film is its engaging story, and how unique the style is combined with the 1800s setting. Seeing this film come together has been an incredible journey, I am so grateful to my team for all the hard work they put in, and for all the fun we’ve had together!

Yuhan “Kaya” Huang

Rough Animation, Clean-Up Animation, Compositing

Hi, my name is Yuhan Huang, but since there are a lot of Yuhans out there, many friends also call me Kaya. I’m a 2D animator and storyboard artist, and on A Butler’s Job I mainly work on animation, with a focus on character animation and animation tests that include effects. It’s been an amazing experience seeing everyone push their best to create wonderful shots and character performances. Drawing some of our characters has been a real challenge for me since I’ve never spent this much time drawing furry animals before joining the project. That said, I still really enjoy this warm little story alongside my amazing team.

Xinyue "Alice" Zhang

Visual Development, Rough Animation, Clean-Up Animation, Compositing

Hello everyone, I’m Alice (Xinyue Zhang). I’m from China, specializing in 2D animation, character design, illustration, and MOME—these skills allowed me to contribute to the ABJ project by working on characters, layout, and animation. Collaborating with the team has taught me a lot, and this past year has been full of surprises and valuable experiences. What I enjoyed most was having the opportunity to tackle animation shots from various angles, which was also the most challenging aspect. In short, this will be an outstanding work—thanks to all of our efforts together.

Youyang Ma

Visual Development, Background Paint, Compositing

Hello, my name is Youyang Ma, and I served as the background artist for A Butler’s Job. Throughout this project, I discovered how collaboration shapes storytelling. Building the environments allowed me to see the world of the film more clearly—how spaces reflect the narrative and echo the personalities of the characters. This process deepened my passion for visual storytelling, and I invite you to step into this world and enjoy the work.
